Wild game goulash is something every outdoorsmen or woman has cooked at one time or another and it’s a great way to clean out the fridge. This is also one of my favourite meals to make while ice fishing.
1- Cut deer, elk, moose, antelope, or any wild game into 3” strips about ¼ to ½ inch wide and spice to liking.
2- Brown meat in a frying pan adding water as to not let the meat dry out.
3- When the meat is cooked to the ½ way point add in your choice of vegetables.
4- Spice again and add enough water to cover the bottom of the pan and place the lid on the pan.
5- Steam cook the vegetables and the remainder of the meat.
I like to cook the goulash in cast-iron frying pans and serve the meal hot off the stove, fire, or barbecue, in the same cast-iron pans it was cooked in!
